We Welcome You

We’re located in the heart of Port Hardy on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada (just over 500 km (311 miles) from Victoria, at the northern end of Highway 19).

You’ll find our Inn a relaxing & refreshing place to stay and a convenient base from which to explore the surrounding parks, trails & shorelines.

It’s just a 5 minute walk from Providence Place Inn to the beach, yet it’s situated just across the road from all the shopping. We’re also only a few minutes away from the bus depot. A 10 minute drive to the airport or the BC Ferry Terminal (Discovery Coast Passage, Inside Passage) with shuttle service available (North Island Transportation).

The seawall along the community's coastline (a 5 minute walk from the Inn) is a popular walking path with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains & islands. At one end of the seawall is the Coast Guard Station, which shares the pier with incoming fishing boats & float planes, while at the other end is a Nature Walking Trail through Hardy Bay Estuary observing bald eagles, sea birds, seals & other marine life. Drive 15 minute down the road and you’ll be at very beautiful Stories Beach. Walk along the sandy shore or rent a kayak in town before heading out.
